About Chichá Rapé (Hapé)
This regular strength blend, crafted by the Katukina tribe of Acre, Brazil, combines tobacco from tribal lands with the ash of the Chichá tree — known across Brazil as Xixá. The Katukina reach for Chichá when the work ahead asks for attention: it is the blend they associate with clarity and steady presence, traditionally taken before ceremony, before study, and before the long patient hours of bead making.
Where many blends settle a person, Chichá fortifies. It is worked with when reserves are low — against tiredness and heaviness rather than toward stillness — and practitioners describe it as uplifting and grounding in equal measure: a clear, energised state without overwhelm. In Brazilian tradition it is associated with the heart and throat centres.
The ash itself is part of the story. Chichá ash is unusually rich in lime, which is why it is prized as a base across the Amazon and often traded on its own — the alkalinity carries the blend and aids its absorption. Here it is worked with tobacco alone: two ingredients, nothing more.

Hapé snuff can remain potent for years when kept in a cool, dry, and dark location. To maintain its quality, ensure your hapé is tightly sealed and protected from any form of moisture. It is not recommended to store hapé in the refrigerator as condensation may form inside the container upon removal.
