About Pau Pereira Rapé (Hapé)

This spiritual blend, crafted by the Katukina tribe of Acre, Brazil, centres on Pau Pereira (Platycyamus regnellii) — a large Amazonian tree whose pale yellow bark is deeply embedded in the plant knowledge of the Katukina. Pau Pereira is combined with tobacco from tribal lands, creating a blend of notable strength and decisiveness.

Pau Pereira is a forceful and grounding rapé, traditionally worked with for emotional release, inner clarity, and preparation for deeper ceremonial practice. Where some rapés open gently, Pau Pereira arrives with purpose — strong, decisive, and immediate in its quality of sweeping presence. Traditionally valued for cutting through stagnant energies, releasing held tension, and returning to a clear, centred state of awareness.

Sourced & Verified | Our Pau Pereira specifications come directly from the Katukina makers themselves. Pau Pereira and Tsunu are separate trees—contrary to what most vendors claim online, these are not interchangeable.

Discover the tradition this blend grows from in our What is Rapé? guide.

Storage and Freshness

It is not recommended to store hapé in the refrigerator as condensation may form inside the container upon removal.

About Rapé (Hapé): Benefits & Safety

Rapé (hapé) is a traditional Amazonian preparation crafted from finely ground plants, botanicals, and tree ash, used ceremonially by Indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin across many generations.

Blends vary widely — most fall into three broad categories: spiritual, healing, or fortifying — each reflecting the intentions of the tribe and maker. Traditional use is ceremonial, approached with clear intention and respect for the plants and the tradition.

Please approach this rapé with care and clear intention — best used in ceremony or with conscious purpose.
