About Louro Rapé (Hapé)

Louro Hapé is a focused two-ingredient blend from the Kuntanawa tribe of Acre, Brazil, part of our healing rapé collection — bay laurel (Laurus nobilis) and tobacco from tribal lands, nothing more. Bay laurel has been carried as a sacred plant across cultures for centuries: a symbol of victory and prophecy in ancient Greece, and in Brazilian Candomblé and Umbanda traditions, the key herb in defumação (ceremonial fumigation) rituals believed to dissolve stagnant energy, open blocked paths, and restore clarity. In these Afro-Brazilian traditions, louro is closely associated with Ogum — the Orixá of iron and the warrior's path — used when what lies ahead needs to be cleared before forward movement is possible.

Louro has a warm, aromatic quality — grounded and clarifying on the senses. One reviewer says it "assisting me move stuck energies" and names it among her new favourites. In traditional practice, bay laurel fumigation is used to dissolve what has grown heavy, invite flow, and strengthen personal presence — qualities woven into this quietly direct blend by the Kuntanawa healers who craft it.

Storage and Freshness

It is not recommended to store hapé in the refrigerator as condensation may form inside the container upon removal.

About Rapé (Hapé): Benefits & Safety

Rapé (hapé) is a traditional Amazonian preparation crafted from finely ground plants, botanicals, and tree ash, used ceremonially by Indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin across many generations.

Blends vary widely — most fall into three broad categories: spiritual, healing, or fortifying — each reflecting the intentions of the tribe and maker. Traditional use is ceremonial, approached with clear intention and respect for the plants and the tradition.

Please approach this rapé with care and clear intention — best used in ceremony or with conscious purpose.
