What is Rapé (Hapé)?

Rapé snuff is a time-honored sacrament cherished by the tribes of the Amazon for centuries. This handcrafted preparation comprises dried, ground medicinal plants and tree ashes. Traditionally, rapé is administered via a unique bone or bamboo Kuripe pipe, blown directly into the nostrils.

Lovely scent, bright spiritual energy, sticky

The smell is lovely; the spiritual energy is subtle and bright; the body feels are mild. The powder itself is almost sticky in the sinuses. We’re just starting to experiment with combining it with our tan rappés, like straight menta or bashawa or lourinho (to stay true to its blend), which seems to help.

Not for me.

I didn't have a good 1st reaction to this and I am afraid to try it again. Not really sure if it would happen again but it was pretty unpleasant so will probably be a little bit before I find out. Messed up sinuses for the rest of the day. I think it must have a different effect on the people who make and enjoy this blend.
