About the Yawanawá Kuripe Pipe
Experience the craftsmanship and durability of a handmade Yawanawá kuripe, a traditional Amazonian self-application pipe used to administer rapé (hapé) during ceremony. Carved from a single piece of resilient Cumaru wood and created exclusively for Shamanic Supply, each kuripe highlights the natural beauty and distinctive grain of the wood, making every piece a one-of-a-kind ceremonial tool.
Designed for self-administration, this rapé applicator pipe offers excellent balance, control, and a comfortable fit in the hand. The compact V-shaped form connects mouth to nostril, allowing the medicine to be delivered with intention and precision during personal practice, ritual, and sacred prayer.
Honoring the Yawanawá tribe's traditional artistry, each Cumaru wood kuripe rapé pipe is individually carved by hand. The dense hardwood—sourced from the abundant forests of Brazil and prized for its strength and fragrant flowers—is renowned for its exceptional durability and beautiful grain. Produced in small batches rather than mass quantities, every kuripe serves not only as a functional ceremonial instrument but also as a collectible expression of authentic Amazonian craftsmanship.

What is a Kuripe?
What is a Kuripe?
A kuripe is a traditional self-applicator pipe used by the Indigenous tribes of the Amazon rainforest to administer sacred hapé (rapé) snuff. Small enough to fit in the palm, this V-shaped kuripe pipe is handmade from bamboo, wood or bone: one end rests at the lips, the other at the nostril, letting the practitioner blow the rapé into the nose without assistance — unlike the longer tepi pipe, which is used to serve hapé to another person. The use of kuripes dates back hundreds of years, with each tribe crafting its own distinctive designs and styles.

What is Rapé (Hapé)?
What is Rapé (Hapé)?
Hapé (rapé) — also spelled rapeh or hapeh — is a sacred Amazonian snuff medicine, prepared and used in ceremony by Indigenous tribes for centuries. Each handcrafted blend combines sun-cured jungle tobacco and dried medicinal plants with alkaline tree ashes, every formula reflecting the unique traditions of its makers. Traditionally, this shamanic snuff is administered with a bone or bamboo kuripe pipe, blown gently into the nostrils.

Not the best fit for me..the nose to mouth is short and the nose piece is very sharp..overall not my favorite Karipe
Such a simple device yet small details matter. The tapered receiver, even the geometry inside is human engineered for efficacy.
I’ve tried 7 or 8 different Kuripes, and this is my favorite

I’ve been placing orders with Shamanic Supply regularly for years now and the service and product have been consistently great. It energetically feels good to support them and the Yawanawa tribe. I also deeply appreciate that all the packaging is easily recyclable and the rapeh comes in a reusable glass bottle. I also love how clean and user-friendly their website is. I recently ordered one of their new carved kuripes and the craftsmanship is beautiful. I will say that it seems intended more for a man physiologically but it still delivers as intended. I highly recommend!
I'm so happy with this kuripe. The ones with a sharp angle get clogged easily and the medicine stays in them. But with these carved kuripes, they are very well made and the flow is excellent, delivering all the rapé every time. Thank you!
This Kuripe is solid and well made. Medicine does not seem to get stuck in it either. Quality product.
Beautiful gifts, thoughtful communication
