About Veia de Pajé Rapé (Hapé)

This strong rapé from the Yawanawá tribe of Acre, Brazil, is built around a single sacred plant: Jurubeba (Solanum paniculatum) — known among the Yawanawá as Veia de Pajé, the Shaman's Vein. A spiny shrub found across Brazil's forests and cerrado, Jurubeba carries deep roots in both indigenous tradition and Afro-Brazilian spiritual practice, blended here with tobacco from tribal lands.

In Umbanda and Candomblé — Brazil's Afro-Brazilian spiritual traditions, rooted in West African and indigenous practice — Jurubeba is the herb of descarrego: the clearing of spiritual blockages, the driving away of negative energies, and the strengthening of axé, the vital force that flows through all living things. Among the Yawanawá it carries that same purifying character — worked with in forest rituals and sacred baths to attract positive energies, open paths in relationships and purpose, and shield against envy, jealousy, and spiritual interference. Practitioners describe what comes through: "strong and potent yet soft," one writes; "directly grounded, connection to mother earth," another; "a sense of well being and connection."

Storage and Freshness

Hapé snuff can remain potent for years when kept in a cool, dry, and dark location. To maintain its quality, ensure your hapé is tightly sealed and protected from any form of moisture. It is not recommended to store hapé in the refrigerator as condensation may form inside the container upon removal.

About Rapé (Hapé): Benefits & Safety

Rapé (hapé) is a traditional Amazonian preparation crafted from finely ground plants, botanicals, and tree ash, used ceremonially by Indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin across many generations.

Blends vary widely — most fall into three broad categories: Spirit & Ceremony, Grounding & Release, or Strength & Clarity — each reflecting the intentions of the tribe and maker. Traditional use is ceremonial, approached with clear intention and respect for the plants and the tradition.

Please approach this rapé with care and clear intention — best used in ceremony or with conscious purpose.
