About Kumarui Rapé (Hapé)

This light blend, crafted by the Kuntanawa tribe of Acre, Brazil, is built around Kumarui (Dipteryx odorata) — the Tonka Bean tree, whose seeds carry a rich, sweet fragrance of vanilla and almond. One of the Amazon's most prized trees, Dipteryx odorata grows to great heights in the forest canopy and has been worked with in Kuntanawa tradition for generations for its grounding and spiritually opening qualities, combined here with tobacco from tribal lands.

Kumarui is smooth and immediate — "very grounding" in character, yet with a quality practitioners describe as "very energizing." Its dual nature is what makes it distinctive: it settles into the earth while opening the path upward, making it equally valued in seated meditation and active ceremony. The Kuntanawa work with it for this same quality — rootedness that coexists with upward movement.

Storage and Freshness

Hapé snuff can remain potent for years when kept in a cool, dry, and dark location. To maintain its quality, ensure your hapé is tightly sealed and protected from any form of moisture. It is not recommended to store hapé in the refrigerator as condensation may form inside the container upon removal.

About Rapé (Hapé): Benefits & Safety

Rapé (hapé) is a traditional Amazonian preparation crafted from finely ground plants, botanicals, and tree ash, used ceremonially by Indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin across many generations.

Blends vary widely — most fall into three broad categories: Spirit & Ceremony, Grounding & Release, or Strength & Clarity — each reflecting the intentions of the tribe and maker. Traditional use is ceremonial, approached with clear intention and respect for the plants and the tradition.

Please approach this rapé with care and clear intention — best used in ceremony or with conscious purpose.
