About Vashawa Rapé (Hapé)

This healing rapé, crafted by the Yawanawá tribe of Acre, Brazil, is named for Vashawá — the Serpent. Across western Amazonian traditions, the Serpent is the guardian of the forest's deepest knowledge: the keeper of esoteric wisdom, the spiritual guide that moves through unseen realms and returns with clarity. The key botanical is Flor de Coral (Jatropha multifida) — a striking jungle shrub whose vivid coral-red flower clusters rise in dense, torch-like formations above palmate leaves — combined with Cumaru (Dipteryx odorata), the warm, sweet-scented Tonka Bean tree revered across the Amazon, and tobacco grown on Yawanawá tribal lands.

Vashawa arrives with force. Practitioners describe an onset that stills the mind almost instantly — a decisiveness that sweeps through the senses and clears accumulated mental noise with unusual authority — followed by a quality of open, settled clarity. The Serpent does not ease you in. It brings you present, and the stillness that follows belongs to something deeper than the arrival. Traditionally worked with for energetic cleansing, inner strength, and clarity that comes through release rather than effort.

Explore the deeper traditions behind this blend in our guide to the ancient art of rapé — its origins, lineage, and how it is worked with today.

Storage and Freshness

It is not recommended to store hapé in the refrigerator as condensation may form inside the container upon removal.
