About Katsaral Rapé (Hapé)

This regular strength blend, crafted by the Yawanawa tribe of Acre, Brazil, is built around Katsaral (Mikania glomerata) — known in Brazil as Guaco, a fast-climbing vine of the Amazon whose broad, heart-shaped leaves have been prized across centuries of indigenous and folk tradition for their warming and strengthening character. The Yawanawa name it Katsaral and consider it a plant of deep wisdom and fortification, combined here with Tsunu (Platycyamus regnellii) ash and tobacco from tribal lands.

Katsaral is immediately recognisable — one practitioner describes "beautiful clove scent" while another notes its "peppery, and uplifting" character. Often called a teacher hapé by those who work with it regularly, it opens something expansive: one reviewer finds "instant reconnection to the present moment." The Yawanawa turn to it for strength, expanded perception, and access to deeper wisdom in ceremony.

Storage and Freshness

It is not recommended to store hapé in the refrigerator as condensation may form inside the container upon removal.

About Rapé (Hapé): Benefits & Safety

Rapé (hapé) is a traditional Amazonian preparation crafted from finely ground plants, botanicals, and tree ash, used ceremonially by Indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin across many generations.

Blends vary widely — most fall into three broad categories: Spirit & Ceremony, Grounding & Release, or Strength & Clarity — each reflecting the intentions of the tribe and maker. Traditional use is ceremonial, approached with clear intention and respect for the plants and the tradition.

Please approach this rapé with care and clear intention — best used in ceremony or with conscious purpose.
