About Bulk Menta Rapé (Hapé)
Menta Hapé is a strong blend from the Yawanawa tribe of Acre, Brazil — combining tobacco from tribal lands, Tsunu ash (Platycyamus regnellii), and Amazonian mint (Mentha arvensis).
In Brazilian folk practice, mint (hortelã) is a staple of ritual herb baths and defumações — burned or steeped to "esfriar a cabeça," to cool the head. Customers describe the same thing in their own words: it "not only clears your sinuses, but your mind."
What sets Menta apart is that it lifts and settles at once. Practitioners report "a clear, uplifting energy" and "grounding and gentle" in the same breath — one reaches for it to stay present through long days working with others, another "for centering and relaxing at the end of a long day." It is crafted from finely ground tobacco — the principal element — blended with ash and a range of botanicals: herbs, flowers, seeds, roots, and barks. Each tribe and maker follows their own recipe, so blends vary in character and strength, from gentle and grounding to strong and fortifying.
