About Menta Rapé (Hapé)
This healing formula blends traditional jungle tobacco and Tsunu ash with natural menthol from Amazonian mint (Mentha sp.). The cooling vapours create an immediate fresh sensation in the nasal passages, helping calm the mind while sharpening awareness.
Learn how to use rapé—visit our Rapé How-To guide for step-by-step instructions.
Mint-derived menthol is prized in Amazonian folk medicine for its mild analgesic and decongestant effects. Pharmacological studies show menthol activates cold-sensitive TRPM8 receptors, producing a perceived drop in temperature and easing nasal airflow.1 Within rapé, this translates to:
- Airway clarity — opens sinuses, enabling deeper nasal breathing during meditation or prayer.
- Mental freshness — many practitioners report a crisp, “wind-through-the-mind” effect that clears mental fog and supports focus.
- Mild pain relief — menthol’s counter-irritant action can help ease headache pressure linked to congestion.
- Cooling comfort — useful in hot climates or during intense ceremony when body temperature rises.
Gentle yet uplifting, Menta rapé is suitable for daily centering, relaxation, and breath-work. Use sparingly; the cooling effect intensifies with larger doses.
This Menta rapé is meticulously crafted by the Yawanawá tribe of Acre, Brazil, for our customers.

Storage and Freshness
Hapé snuff can remain potent for years when kept in a cool, dry, and dark location. To maintain its quality, ensure your hapé is tightly sealed and protected from any form of moisture. It is not recommended to store hapé in the refrigerator as condensation may form inside the container upon removal.

What is Rapé (Hapé)? Benefits & Safety
Rapé (hapé) is a time-honored Amazonian sacrament crafted from finely ground medicinal plants and tree ash. Traditionally administered with a bone or bamboo kuripe pipe, hapé is blown directly into the nostrils as part of sacred rituals and ceremonies.
Each blend is unique, but most fall into three categories: spiritual, healing, or fortifying. Indigenous peoples use hapé to ground the mind, clear negative energy, enhance focus, and foster a deeper connection with the spiritual realm.
Please use this sacred plant medicine with respect and clear intention—it is not meant for habitual or social use.

Hapè is my go to which helps me feel more connected in a spiritual way. This site is amazing and I have added loads to my collection. I get the 1.5 grams as it’s for personal use and they come in little bags so I can transfer them into little pots!! Great site and quick delivering will be buying again! Thank you!
Great product fast delivery
Thank you for the efficient service and excellent products. I especially enjoyed the Yawanawa Menta Hapé – the blend was refreshing and grounding, with a clear, uplifting energy. It helped me feel more centered and connected during my meditation. I truly appreciate the care and intention behind your offerings.
This Hape has a strong mint flavor that not only clears your sinuses, but your mind.
Grounding and gentle
I tried several different kinds and Mente is my favorite. I’ve tried Mente from other shops and Shamanic Supply is higher quality.
Shamanic Supply has been my go-to for years and have two favorites that are always in stock. Great communication and super fast delivery!
This helps me through the day process hard work at a mental health clinic and giving me the energy I need to be there for the people I work with.
thank you
Icy blades getting blown into your sinus cavity. That's what this scent is like. It does get smoother as you use it more, but it adds a sharpness to it that rape' doesn't need. The after effects are typical to Yawanawa, very strong. I'm just not into that "cool" icy feeling. I wasn't expecting it to be like that.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about our Menta rapé. We are sorry to hear that the menthol sensation was too intense for your liking. We understand that everyone has different preferences when it comes to rapé blends.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. While many of our customers enjoy the strong, cooling effect of our Menta blend, we recognize that for some, it can be overpowering.
We are actively working with the Yawanawá tribe to explore the use of a special mint called Huacatay in future batches. Huacatay is known for its smoother, more balanced minty flavor and aroma, with less of the intense menthol sensation. We believe this could provide a more enjoyable experience for those who find the current Menta blend too strong.
Your feedback is valuable in helping us improve our products and better serve our customers. If you'd like to discuss this further or explore alternative blends that might better suit your preferences, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service team.
Thank you again for your review and for supporting our partnership with the Yawanawá tribe.
